An intensive desire of fondue? No need to put on your Moon Boots and go to the mountains, Hans Rüdi’s chalet awaits you at the Crowne Plaza Geneva.
It is a wooden chalet with its pretty flower boxes, red and white checkered curtains and log storage on the wall, that has just been installed in front of Crowne Plaza Geneva entrance. But how did this pretty alpine chalet leave its mountains for Geneva?
Like the best stories, everything starts with … once upon a time…
Once upon a time Hans Rüdi, a farmer and breeder who loves his mountains, that every winter was forced to come back to Geneva for his business. When in Geneva he was saddened by his snowy landscapes, the chimney fire in the cozy atmosphere of his chalet and, above all, of its fondue.
So ? He decided, with the complicity of the Crowne Plaza Geneva, to install his alpine chalet and prepare his famous fondue. Hans Rüdi was delighted to welcome his first customers, but an emergency in his summer chalet has obliged him to leave, accompanied by his faithful Bruno, a cheerful Bernese mountain dog.
As an attentive host, Hans Rüdi left the keys of his chalet at the Crowne Plaza Geneva bar, so that his guests can enjoy a homemade fondue, prepared according to his own recipe.
Eight guests, at most, sit around a large wooden table covered with a red and white checkered tablecloth. The walls are decorated with colorful paintings on wood, old ski poles and snowshoes.
The menu is chalked on slates attached to the wall: fondue moitié-moitié (Vacherin and Gruyère AOP), cepe mushrooms fondue, dried meat and a plate of cold cuts. As dessert, pineapple carpaccio and fresh mint, or meringues accompanied by Gruyère double cream and red fruits.
All under the gaze of a photo of Hans Rüdi and his dog Bruno.
